Family Self Sufficiency Graduation at Daytona Beach Housing Authority

DBHA Family Sites Resident Council Inductions were facilitated by the League of Women Voters of Volusia County. The Family Sites were inducted at the Neighborhood Network Career Center at Palmetto Park.

Windsor and Maley Apartments Resident Council Inductions were facilitated by the League of Women Voters of Volusia County. Both the Windsor and the Maley Apartment residents showed up in great numbers on election day and many residents came to support their officers on their day of Induction.

Girls on the Run and Heart and Sole Program at Neighborhood Network Career Center. Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Resident trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.

The Housing Authority of the City of Daytona Beach is a host site for the Summer BreakSpot program which provides breakfast and lunch to children Monday-Friday throughout the summer. At the end of the summer the participants are recognized for their participation in the program by DBHA staff, volunteers and community partners.
